Moryt Milo
Editor, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal
  Moryt Milo is the editor of the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. She is a veteran journalist who has lived in the Valley for more than 25 years. Prior to joining the Business Journal, she was with the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers for more than 9 years, as a columnist, reporter and, during last six years, as an editor for five of its 10 newspapers. Prior to becoming an editor, Moryt was a freelance journalist and wrote opinion pieces that were picked up by major dailies nationwide through the Knight Ridder wire service. Throughout her career she has received numerous awards for her work, including the California National Publishers Association, Peninsula Press Club and John Swett. She was honored in 2006 with a Media Recognition award from Rotary International. Moryt is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Originally from New York, she moved to California in 1975. She is lives in Campbell with her husband, Ray, and has two children.

Joseph Stagner
Executive Director of Sustainability & Energy Mgt., Stanford Univ.
  During his 14 years at the University of California Davis, Stagner was instrumental in developing and implementing many innovative projects that furthered the UC campus' sustainability and energy conservation efforts. Among his notable achievements at Davis was moving the university toward energy independence by reforming the campus infrastructure planning process and working with faculty to implement their innovative research into various sustainable initiatives. Stagner also played a major role in developing patented technology for the cleanup of groundwater pollution at Davis and in the installation of a nationally recognized project that combined landfill gas-to-energy and soil remediation. His primary responsibilities at Stanford include leading the Utilities and Parking and Transportation groups; developing, implementing and monitoring the university's strategy for reducing its carbon emissions; and forming a new Sustainability Programs group that will coordinate and aggregate the university's various sustainability initiatives.

Shelley Hebert
Executive Director, Public Affairs, Stanford Hospital & Clinics
 

Shelley Hébert is Executive Director for Public Affairs at Stanford Hospital & Clinics. She is the Hospital's senior public affairs strategist and spokesperson on major strategic initiatives, including development of the 1 million-square-foot new hospital facility currently being planned for Stanford Medical Center at an estimated cost of $2 billion. Prior to joining SHC, she served as Executive Director for development of the Taube-Koret Campus for Jewish Life, a $300 million mixed-use project now in construction at the former SUN Microsystems headquarters site in Palo Alto, California. The project includes 193 units of independent and assisted living for older adults (known as the Moldaw Family Residences at 899 Charleston), the new state-of-the-art Oshman Family Jewish Community Center and offices for other local nonprofits. Previously, she was Director of Business Development for Stanford University and Vice President of Marketing/Chief Administrative Officer for an early-stage venture capital firm.

Owner, AGI Financial, Inc.
  Isaac Agam is the owner of AGI Financial, Inc, a Mortgage Origination Company, since 1989. From 1979 to 1989, Mr. Agam held various Marketing positions for Hi-Tech companies. In addition, Mr. Agam has been investing in real estate since 1986, primarily in the Bay Area. Mr. Agam holds a Business & Administration Certificate from Harvard University, an Engineering degree from the Technion, Israel, and Real Estate Broker license.

Jim Baer
CEO, Premier Properties
  Jim Baer is a 1978 Stanford JD/MBA 1978 following 1972 Stanford BS.  Jim practiced law specializing in real estate transactions until 1990 with his last years at Ware and Freidenrich, a predecessor of DLA/Piper in Palo Alto.  Beginning in 1983, Jim became involved with the development of commercial buildings, in Palo Alto through his entity, Premier Properties. Since then, Premier Properties has been the most active developer of small parcel commercial properties in Palo Alto with responsibility for nearly 100 projects. Premier has completed over 10,000 leases, and supervised construction of over $300,000,000 all in Palo Alto. Jim’s focus on Palo Alto projects has resulted in his being among the most effective consultants for land use approvals within Palo Alto.  Jim has participated in over 800 public hearings and has received over 100 project approvals in Palo Alto. The only projects outside of Palo Alto with which Jim has been involved are three Sunnyvale projects during the dot.com boom: the 800,000 square foot Yahoo Campus; Phase I Juniper Technologies project of 250,000 square feet; and a 460,000 square foot office project in the Sunnyvale Downtown Redevelopment Agency. Jim is a regular lecturer on local land use matters. He also serves as an expert witness having most recently represented SIPC, an asset-managing agency of the SEC.

Linda Law
Founding Partner, Law & Associates
  Linda S. Law is a member of Silicom Ventures advisory board. Her nationally recognized company is one of the only women-owned real estate development firms developing institutional-quality projects in the United States. Law & Associates recently completed University Circle, a large Class A mixed-use office/hotel project in East Palo Alto which includes a Four Seasons Hotel. Prior to forming Law & Associates, Ms. Law worked as a corporate real estate consultant to many high tech companies advising on their real estate requirements and undertaking site selection, land acquisition, leasing and campus development. Among others, her clients included Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Chiron/Novartis and Abbott Laboratories. Ms. Law is an alumnus of University of California, Berkeley and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is actively involved in several business and non-profit organizations including fundraising for Lick-Wilmerding High School and fundraising for The Level Playing Field Institute. She is a member of the UC Berkeley's Real Estate Advisory Board as well as a board member of the Harvard Design Magazine. She is also the founding member of the Harvard Real Estate Center and Vice Chairman of the Harvard Real Estate International Advisory Board. Ms. Law lectures at UC Berkeley and Harvard University.

  Sean O'Toole is the Founder and CEO of ForeclosureRadar; the only company that tracks every foreclosure in California with daily updates on all foreclosure auctions. ForeclosureRadar features unprecedented tools to search, manage, track and analyze preforeclosure, foreclosure auction, short sale and bank owned real estate. The service was launched in May 2007 by Sean O’Toole, who spent 15 years building and launching software companies before entering the foreclosure business in 2002 where he has successfully bought and sold more than 150 foreclosure properties. He is a noted foreclosure expert with appearances in the N.Y. Times, 60 Minutes, CNBC, Bloomberg, KCRA, Mercury News, L.A. Times, KRON and the SF Chronicle. ForeclosureRadar is privately held and based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  Mr. Carl Shannon is responsible for Tishman Speyer’s Portfolio in the San Francisco Bay Area, including both San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Before joining Tishman Speyer in 1998, Mr. Shannon was a District Manager for GE Capital responsible for their Northern California lending activities. Mr. Shannon also spent six years with The Prudential Insurance Company of American in Newark, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and San Francisco. Mr. Shannon has both an A.B. in 1987 and M.B.A. in 1992 from Harvard University.
