SILICOM DELEGATION TO THE CANARY ISLANDS  

As a follow up event to the Spain/Canary Islands Technology Showcase we held on May 16th of this year, on November 20th-22nd a delegation of Silicom Ventures members will travel to the Canary Islands to participate in a three day event that will take place in the Gran Canaria and Tenerife Islands.

Yoggie, a security solution company lead by Shlomo Touboul (Founder of Finjan Software), presented to Silicom members and received some funding from members.

Satori Labs is a leading provider of digital pen-and-paper solutions for healthcare forms automation presented in the meeting prior to summer break and closed round A with a few Silicom investors joining the round.

PORTFOLIO UPDATES  

Chakshu Research is currently enrolling patients in a FDA Phase I/II clinical trial. These trials are being conducted at multiple sites across the USA, including research institutions and private sites. The company is operating under budget and expects to raise the next round of equity after the end of current clinical trials, in 2H/2007.

The company currently is participating in education bids throughout the world. COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR SILICOM MEMBERS
Silicom Ventures members have been looking at a real estate deal in San Antonio Texas. The deal is run by a couple of Israelis who have been living in the East Bay for many years and have developed an impressive track record in buying rundown commercial R/E properties, rehabbing the properties and exiting with a substantial profit a few years later. Israel Niv and Amos Barzilay flew to the property and investigated extensively on this deal. INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT SUMMIT 2006
On June 26th to the 28th Silicom Ventures held an International Summit in Israel. Delegations from Spain, Netherlands, China, UK and Argentina participated and shared some good time mixing business with pleasure. SEMINAR ON EYE GAZING TRACKING TECHNOLOGY
On September 6th Dr. Arnon Amir of IBM Almaden Research Center shared his research on eye gazing tracking technology. Dr. Amir and his team conducted the research as part of the BlueEyes project, in which he jointly developed a calibration-free eye gaze tracking system with free head motion and a single-chip eye detection prototype.
