DATE :  November 9th, 2010   ABSTRACT :

As more and more people move from rural spaces to populate urban areas, leading cities like Edinburgh, New York and Dubai are implementing smarter systems in the Public Safety, Transportation, Education and Water sectors to overcome challenges posed by rapid urbanization. Utilizing information and communication technologies (ICT) to transform core systems and services, these municipalities optimize use of limited resources; this is the “Smart City”.
Smart Cities are teaming up with players like IBM, Cisco and SAP, who are investing resources to promote the development of new applications and services while raising the involvement of citizens.
"Smart Cities" will provide a unique opportunity to hear from industry leaders and innovative companies about new technologies and initiatives related to the evolving Smart City space. The event will focus on business opportunities and will discuss challenges cities are facing and solutions that are developed to address them.
