DATE :  October 18, 2011   ABSTRACT :
The success of the films like Avatar have ushered in the era of 3D video. 2010 projections showed 3D television technology as posed to become a mainstream feature and a major source of consumer spending. However, 2010 proved to be less lucrative for TV manufacturers than was hoped, due to main reasons like the economic slump and a lack of 3D content. The technology is likely to fare better in 2011, fueled by increasing content, reduction in prices and additional convenient features for home-viewing, such as more comfortable glasses. Come to hear about the opportunities and pitfalls of this exciting technology and its effect on the entertainment industry.
